Start procedure

The start of a Grand Prix race can be important for the outcome of the race. It is one of the highlights of a race weekend. The start follows always the same start procedures. The most important signal is the start (signal) indication. The pit-lane opens 30 minutes prior to the start. The drivers have now the opportunity to do a couple test laps, or driving straight to the start-grid. 17 minutes prior the start, a signal horn can be heard, that also indicates that the pit lane will close in 2 minutes.
